Columbia State Historic Park Photo Shoot
Friday, August 15, 2025
Home projects and yard work have kept me busy for the past several weeks, but this morning I finally headed out to take some photos. My destination was Columbia State Historic Park, where my hope was to get a couple good shots to use on my new Tuolumne County travel gallery. Arriving at just before 9:00 AM, I headed to the Quart Mountain Stage Line office on Main Street to snap some pictures of the stagecoach. Most of the images that I come across are taken at this spot, so I took a short hike along the gravel road that the stage travels on to find a few different perspectives. It’s a relatively easy place to take photos from various shooting locations with the stagecoach running every 15 to 20 minutes. By late morning the air temperature was getting warm, so I headed back to Main Street and took a handful of pictures of buildings, old wagons and a couple of the staff working in period costume, before heading home.
